Our Thoughts on this book:
I love the practical application of the devotions in the this God and Me! Book. The length is good when we try to rush the bed time reading. (I’m not the only one who thinks bed time takes too long!) We do substitute in our kids’ names into the story to bring the point home.
The second spread of each devotion includes reflection questions and I LOVE these for the most part because I can engage the story and expand upon what we read. I am guilty of adding in my own additional questions to make it tie to something that may have happened to my daughter. I don’t do the “Try this” activity but I think they are great – when it isn’t bed time.
I love when books include a prayer! We have our kids repeat it with us. The devotion closes out with a bible verse. I love that they have such short ones for this age group! We have been trying to get our girls to memorize these.
Overall, I love this devotional and would like to buy others in this set as my kids get older. I should add that the stories weren’t particularly “girly” as far as the book being a “girls” book.
